Based on almost 60 years of experience with towers, Ramboll has developed RAMTOWER for the analysis of selfsupporting lattice towers with triangular or quadratic cross section exposed to wind and ice load.
In the development of the programme, efforts are made to present the calculated data in a compact and understandable form. Consequently the output can be put directly into a static report. A summary containing key data for the mast, load and dead load is presented as a conclusion. As the programme is programmed in Microsoft Excel, it is possible to incorporate all the advantages from Excel in the use of the programme.
Description
Based on input data concerning mast, sections, profiles and load from antennas the programme is able to determine the following results:
- Length of each member
- Dead load of the lattice section
- Wind load and ice load on the lattice section
- Natural frequency of the mast
- Gust factor
- Sectional and member forces
- Deformation and rotations of the structure
- Buckling capacities of the members
- Utilisation of the members.
