Planning of ducts
When selecting the route for the fibre cable ducts, special focus must be on the requirements and general instructions from the authorities. This means that the route section by section has to be evaluated to ensure the right technical and economical solution in each situation. To ensure this the following overall items are important in the different phases of the establishment of fibre cable ducts:
- In the feasibility study phase special attention must be on practicable and cost reducing solutions, which ensure the overall safety of the ducts and cables. Comprehensive site survey and risk analysis is performed during this phase.
- In the tender phase special attention must be on clear work description, obtaining all permits and invite proper contractors. If required by the client, a complete detailed design can be included in this phase.
- In the construction phase special attention must be on that all requirements are followed, and if deviations should be necessary, that no deviations are executed without prior acceptance. All documentation and testing are carried out prior to hand over to the client. This shall be ensured with an effective supervision and inspection.
