Ramboll has broad experience with setting up switching centres and our competences are continuously being developed in cooperation with customers and suppliers.
Switching centres and facilities for IT server rooms require individual conditions for location, design of installations, supply reliability, fire condition and monitoring.
The installations can be defined as:
- Electric power supply
- Backup supply with diesel generator system
- Fire detection
- Fire fighting system
- Automatic system for door control and video monitoring
- Burglar alarm system
- Cooling
- Data floors
- Access roads
- Alarm collection
As multi disciplinary consultant within building Ramboll can manage all services for setting up switching centres. Our assignment can be divided into subprojects by a typical project process that includes:
- Pre feasibility study
- Design
- Tender procedure
- Setting up
- Handing over procedure
The pre feasibility identifies need and demand including selection of suitable locations, identification of transmission form and budgeting.
The design phase can be divided into project proposal and detail design. Approval by the authorities and handling of lease contract can be included as part of the services.
Tender phase, setting up and handing over is the implementing part of the process where Ramboll can manage contract condition, construction supervision and construction man-agement. At handing over of the assignment all systems are being tested and documented.
